We all know they're out there -- the so-called "small name" dressmaker, hardworking crafters who can provide excellent quality AND customer service for a very reasonable price. But how to find them? Not too many are in the Yellow Pages (does anyone even use the Yellow Pages anymore?), and lots may not have the time or technical skill to set up a website. So we're trying to bridge the gap here @ IHTD -- we're hoping to build up a searchable index of dressmakers for potential buyers to use. So if you know of someone out there making beautiful costumes please let them know (don't email us, we won't solicit entries)!
Please note: We are neither qualified nor inclined to jury our entries. Everyone who submits a complete application will be published, and it is up to the discerning customer to evaluate the quality for themselves.

Here's the questions!
1. Name (and name of business, if applicable)
2. Location
3. Your contact information, including a website/Facebook fanpage/Twitter account/blog if you have any of that.
4. List the types of costumes you make (solo dresses, school/beginner dresses, OTRs, boy's/men's outfits, etc) You can also let us know if you sew professionally for other areas too!
5. Price Range (optional)
6. How did you get into dressmaking/costume making?
7. Where do you find your inspiration?
8. What's your favourite part of the process?
9. Share a favourite dressmaking anecdote with us!
10. Up to 5 Customer reviews (Optional)
Photos:
Please provide up to 5 photos of dresses or other costumes you have made. We MUST have at least one to post the feature. Pretty much all photo formats are acceptable, but JPEG is preferred (the photo will be posted as JPEG). Please make it fairly high resolution, and well lit, or it won't do your creation justice on screen.
We STRONGLY recommend also providing us with a photo of yourself! I know everybody hates having their photo taken (us too!) but it makes a big difference in how well people remember you if they have a face associated with the name. A photo of you in your workspace, or at a dance competition, would be especially cool! We won't make it mandatory though :)
After The Feature is put up:
I don't know how far apart I will be spacing these features (depends on how much response I get) but I will start with a month. A small summary of the feature with a couple of photos will be put up on the blog, with a link back to the main website for the whole story. During your month there will be a banner on the home page and on the features page for the first week the story is up featuring your photos.
Once your month is up, the feature will still be available in our Dressmaker Index, so if your contact info changes please let me know. You can also send me new photos or edits to your questionnaire answers as you like. If I get a report that your contact info is not working for a potential customer, I'll contact you myself. If I can't contact you after a couple of weeks, I'll remove the feature from the index (this helps keep the index clear of people no longer in the "biz" so its easier to find the people who are).
